Shower for Gwen

Ten days shy of being exactly two years since Landyn’s baby shower. My best girlfriend’s came to Mike’s parents house;  I was grateful.  I made a joke about how this babygirl would have all of the Landyn’s hammy downs. She already has more in her closet than me! Big thanks to her Mimi for that.  Mike was celebrating with us, as in He was here (watching the gator game) haha. His mom helped me concise him not to golf and pick up Chick-fil-a mini’s.  Meghan and Ashley came over early and blew up 152 balloons. I tried to help but had to sit because I was lightheaded. Definitely will purchase a pump for the next balloon arch.  I wish I could have had a glass of Ashley’s sangria- It was not too sweet, which I liked!  She did good! I had a sip but it is not the same as a glass, yah know!  There was way more food than we all could have ate! I ate the leftovers for the next couple days! My mom made a gorgeous charcuterie platter with little pumpkins and...

Breastfeeding

I am this little humans' sole source of food. Every newborn is different; though much the same. Every journey isn’t the same. Luckily, Landyn latched on right away and I nursed her for one year.  I was delusional for the first couple days. Life was unreal.  Countless sleepless nights, cracked nipples and sore boobs. Worth it? Sure! “Breast is best” right?? Who knows. Formula is made better than ever and what if mom has a poor diet...I did my best to eat well. It did get easier, it became second nature.  I didn't have to bring a bottle anywhere and once she was done; no clean up. Unless she spit up. And she would, a good bit too. Every two hours I would nurse her. Fifteen minutes on each boob! This was advised by the hospital lactation consult. I only did this until we got into our own schedule. WATCH your baby, NOT the clock. It was work to get my supply flowing. It seemed like I would nurse and pump, then it would be time to nurse again. I was drained. Life was much easi...

Selling our Townhouse

Our first home; Our first sell.  What a trip! A bittersweet trip.... and a tough decision.  After going back and forth about whether we should settle elsewhere...with a new baby on the way; we chose to put our end-unit up for sale.  No one told us it wouldn't be smooth sailing after accepting an offer, however we sure didn't expect to be on a roller coaster. If you plan to sell your home; try not to get your hopes up right away and be prepared for months of feeling like a loose-end. With that said; I am so very thankful for our realtor. It would have been (more of) a nightmare without her.  Oh and try to keep your emotions out of it- if you’re sentimental like me.  First buyers were in place after four days on the market. We thought it was meant to be. A young couple with their new baby. Just like us when we bought the place. They even wrote a sweet introduction letter about themselves and how much they loved our home.  We were SHOCKED when the house appra...

We'll be at the pool

I love how much Landyn loves the water. This girl is not afraid of anything. My little water baby. We spend hours in the water.  She kicks her legs and moves her arms like a natural swimmer. Smart girl.  Just have to get her to close her month and hold her breath. The splash park is where it is at . Home girl and I will be there.   Never thought I would say this, but after having a baby; I prefer the pool over the beach. My heart is in love with the ocean. I grow up 5 mins from the beach. The smell of the salt air, take me there.  Now, I don't like to not see my feet. I fear Landyn will be taken by the under current. Landyn will enjoy it more when she is older. Am I alone on this...all she wants to do is eat sand anyways.  And the sand gets everywhere.  As calming as the waves crashing can be, I rather know there isn't a shark on the hunt swimming beside me. Yah know?? I would open my eyes under the waves and have a panic attack that something was ther...

Back in Disney, Post Pandemic

Since Landyn was four months old, we have been to Disney World more time than I can count. We certainly are taking a break once baby two is here. Especially after this most reason visit. Don’t get me wrong, we had a blast and needed a little getaway! I am just pregnant and wearing a mask in 100 degree weather will put a damper on anything. It’s a cute mask though.      The staff took our temperature at the entrance and mine was 101. I had to sit in a cooling tent until it decreased. It only took a minute before they let us into the park. So bizarre. The trams were not running and the black concrete parking lot was rough to walk through. I am confident that was the source of my short lived “fever”.      Running at thirty percent capacity; we were walking onto rides. Which is perfect with a toddler! It was nice to be back in the park. It gave us a sense of “back to normal”. We are annual pass holders and like to go when we have a free we...
